Sweden: Tullgarn Palace, Swedish royal family summer residence

In country areas near the southern coast of Sweden there are often no municipal effluent treatment systems. In the background of the third picture can be seen a reed-bed facility used for dehydrating and detoxifying sludge. After a ten year period the resulting humus, indistinguishable from normal healthy humus can be used on the land for growing farm products.
